Providers Wanted

If you are or have a provider that you think would like to join our resource fair on walk day please let us know. Part of the event is to provide families with great information about local community resources. From therapists to programs to adaptive music and sports; we want to know about it and share it with our families. Providers can contact us at modesto@autismspeaks.org.

Share your Team Fundraising Events with us and see them shared in future emails! If your team is hosting a team wrap around event we can include the event details on our community calendar website and as part of our e-mail updates.

Send your information to modesto@autismspeaks.org.

WALK FAQ’S

Can I reuse my 2008 username and password? What if I forgot?

Yes, you can reuse your 2008 username and password. If you forgot, we’ve got you covered! Click here to have your information emailed to you.

How much do I need to raise and how big should my team be?
There is no minimum amount that you must fundraise to participate in the Walk, and one or more people constitutes a team! If you are able to raise $150 or more as an individual, you will receive a t-shirt on Walk day. Raise a $1,000 and join the Grand Club!

What if I can’t attend the Walk on November 17th?

No worries! You can still sign up now and participate virtually by fundraising through our awesome website! Create and customize your own personal page, and send emails to friends and family! Choose a day that works for your schedule and commit to walking a route in your neighborhood to honor those affected by autism. It’s just that simple.

How long is the Walk route?

The Walk route will be approximately 2 miles and circles the MJC-West campus.

For additional information, please visit the Frequently Asked Questions section of the Walk website here.

JOIN THE 2009 PLANNING COMMITTEE

Calling all committee members and anyone who would like to join the 2009 Autism Speaks Central Valley Walk Committee, we are a fun and dynamic committee! Many of us have a personal connection to autism, although this is not a requirement for joining. If you have skills in logistics, recruitment, want to use your passion for helping people with autism all year long …then this just may be the group for you! Most of the planning is done over e-mail, however we also have conference calls and an occasional meeting in person.

We need YOU….NOW!!

Our first Committee meeting is Thursday June 25th at 6:30pm at the Memorial Health Education and Conference Center in McHenry Village – 1700 McHenry Ave. Modesto, CA 95350. We will discuss all aspects of the Walk, as well as review the various positions that need to be filled in order to make the event a success.

Please contact us at modesto@autismspeaks.org or (707) 778-3840 for more information.

JOIN THE 2009 GRAND CLUB

Individuals who raise $1,000 automatically become members of this exclusive club. Encourage all your team members to reach a personal/individual fundraising goal of $1,000 and on Walk day each individual can enjoy:
• Public recognition
• Commemorative pin
• Special perks on Walk day
• Other surprises throughout Walk season!

Congratulations to our first member of the Grand Club, Brandon Rodrigues! Way to go Brandon!

OFFICIAL WALK NOW FOR AUTISM T-SHIRT

Official Walk Now for Autism t-shirts will be distributed on Walk-Day to each registered individual walker who raises $150 OR MORE.

(Team Captains – This is a great incentive to get your team members to register on line and fundraise for you!)

To reduce costs, ensuring that more dollars are directed to the mission of Autism Speaks, t-shirts will be available on walk day only and not mailed to participants who are unable to attend the event.

Autism Speaks will do its best to ensure that those participants who are receiving shirts will receive a shirt in the size of their choice. However, when this is not possible, another size may be substituted.

Please visit www.walknowforautism.org/centralvalley for more details.
