When My Faith Was Strong – Jake Allen Sharp

Seems like everyone I know is feeling stress beyond measure

When did the worries of this world take away our pleasure

Not enough money, and too much to do

There is sickness, sadness and anxiety too

If you take it all away, there is a beating heart

And a longing in your soul for a new start

This world is cold, so many things have gone wrong

I pray to feel the way I did when my faith was strong

Tis the season, the cheer is supposedly somewhere

Christmas brings a burden, make it hard for me to care

I sing the songs, from Jingle Bells to Silent Night

Though I am broken, I know my savoir is the light

If you take it all away, there is a beating heart

And a longing in your soul for a new start

This world is cold, so many things have gone wrong

I pray to feel the way I did when my faith was strong

Stockings by the fireplace, and lights are on the tree

I get lost thinking of the way life used to be

The kids are growing, and they will soon be gone

I want them to cherish good memories of home

If you take it all away, there is a beating heart

And a longing in your soul for a new start

This world is cold, so many things have gone wrong

I pray to feel the way I did when my faith was strong
