Note: Only the details in the story are available … I have a concern. If the child is screaming, he’s overloaded and done. Autistic kids show signs before that came about and it seems to me many of these moms that get upset for forcing their autistic child into a situation that’s too much, and then forcing the child who’s miserable to continue to stay in the environment …
I don’t blame the pub guy – it’s not a daycare or playground at a pub. And now, mom feels dissed?
I just don’t see this as discrimination. I see it as autistic illiteracy and how it becomes incredibly problematic when taking autistic kids into other environments. I see no plan in place for when the child shows signs of being done — which is incredibly important.
This mom needs more actual parenting with autistic support. It would help these kids tremendously to be better understood and accepted.
