Thank you. Even though April has ended the struggle is still present. I believe that staying together is important because when our voices are united they are more likely heard.

I am definitely up for it; I am already planning to continue adding Autism Resources a couple of times a month besides my regular blogging.

I think it would be best if we could agree on one design – there could be more than one size or style of badge, but the basic design/logo should be the same. It’s fine with me if it doesn’t include the ribbon or puzzle pieces.

Curious if money is being raised, where it would be going?

I’ll be creating new badges soon (maybe as soon as this weekend) for the bloggers that continue on.

Any suggestions on a unified badge that is acceptable by all blogging?

Or should I stick with the two different styles of badges?Either way – let me know. I’d like for us to keep on keeping on.

Thank you everyone for your hard work, dedication and blogging efforts. I’m so thrilled and amazed and in awe of this community.

You all ROCK!

The conversation hasn’t gotten that far yet — I know this may be a sticky issue because even as a joined community, we do have division of thought on the best place support.

I’m open to a conversation about what the blogging for autism awareness community would like to support.

I’ve been blogging now for the past 19 months and frequently post about my granddaughter and grandson. Both are autistic.

I don’t go into the technical or scientific stuff about them – just the little things they do that make my day (or some days, wreck the house too) -just trying to show people yes, they have autism but in oh so many ways they are just like anyone else’s children at the same age too.

I enjoy too being able to post about their little achievements -little perhaps to others, but mega things to us. All of this hopefully serves to educate someone, somewhere, into a better understanding of the disorder -even including us some days too!

My kids -and the grandkids -along with friends and therapists, all participated in the recent Penn State Autism Walk and our team so far has raised almost $2,100 -without the matching funds we have been promised from a social service agency through our church.

And, many of my friends in the blogging community helped greatly with very generous gifts in support of our team because they had come to know my grandchildren through my blog.

I am definitely interested – is it okay if not as many posts are specifically autism-related as during April?

For the organizations, maybe we can come up with a short list and take a vote, with the money split between the top two.

My favorite autism non-profit is the Autism Research Institute, but I realize others may not like them. On the other hand, I am not a big fan of Autism Speaks and think they have enough money already. Another idea is to have one of them in the US and another one in another country.

I would love to be a part of the new blogging list!

http://veiledglory.wordpress.com

May I suggest the Autism Bites Foundation as a recipient? They plan on making direct grants to families with autistic children.

http://autismbites.com/foundation.html

I also second ABFH on the Autism Speaks org. If that group is chosen as a recipient, I will remove myself from the list.

Okay – I scanned the comments for suggestions and nixes. Here’s what I got so far.

By the way feel free to make more suggestions, or nixes. I want everyone to be comfortable about where money raised will be going. So if you’re adamantly against one of these and it would mean you not wanting to move on with the community over to BlogNetNews.com – let me know.

I’ll drop the organization off the consideration list and will work/vote on what’s left.

On consideration list:

Autism Bites & Rocks & Bounces & Yells
http://autismbites.com/foundation.html

Autism Research Institute
http://www.autism.com/

The Autism Acceptance Project
http://www.taaproject.com/

Off the consideration list:

Autism Speaks

Also, those who’ve commented recently – I”ll make sure to get you on the list. Thanks much!!

Okay, I’ve been down sick a few days and then a busy weekend to follow it up.

Will be catching up with the new additions (woohoo thanks for participating!) and posting the list of considerations (and nixed ones) for more discussion before putting up a poll. So check back for that in a day or two.

Somewhere in here I’m working on a new design for ye newish blog (nothing fancy, just something different) and getting today’s ‘Mother of Confusion’ post up (yeah yeah it’s late and prob be tomorrow morning. stinkin’ cold and other excuses).
