A Teen with Autism Helping Police Learn to Help Those in a Mental Health Crisis


The Department of Justice says police officers need to be trained to recognize someone with mental health problems, but nationally police academies spend an average of just 8 hours on crisis intervention. Matter of Fact correspondent Diane Roberts met with a police department in Maryland that’s getting additional training from a teenager to help save lives.
