It’s extremely sad, discouraging and apparent that many community goers do not understand the importance of ABA services for children and adults alike. Applied Behavioral Analysis is based on Skinners (1953b) “operant conditioning” that works by reverting one’s negative behavior to a positive one, as well as being the most effective form of therapy for individuals with autism spectrum syndrome (ASD), and other forms of delay developmental disability disorders. If anybody truly believes there is no use for ABA services for one’s with behavioral deficits then please provide ample evidence its not effective, also include scholarly resources to back your claim up.

Everybody has a right to his/her opinion but as a mother of a 18-year old son with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and a doctorate student working on a degree in leadership & curriculum, a minor in special education that ABA has improved my son’s behavioral and social skills by 79%.

I am just wondering out of thousands of parents with children with autism where do you get your proof from? Is it based on scientific evidence, or just based on a hunch that ABA causes more harm than good?

Because I am a academic researcher as well.

The comment to praying the Gay away I do not hate gay or lesbian people believe that God loves them, as well as autistic individuals just as equally. There’s a huge difference autistic people didn’t cause their exceptionalities, but the gay/lesbian community made that choice by living a sinful life, the autistic community didn’ sin to cause their diagnosis because I love my son no matter what, he’s a gift from my Lord Jesus Christ, whom I serve everyday.

        Prayers for you.

No! Hate here my friend, also have a 18-year old son with autism who is graduating from high-school this year. I also have gay/lesbian friends that know I am a Christian. Please don’t judge me because God is the one whom we will stand before giving an account for the life we lived here on earth. Blessings for you.
