We deserve to live. We need support and resources, not your hatred and constant flood of anger towards us – only because we dare to exist in a neurotypical world that hates us. #ActuallyAutistic#Autism
Please please please don’t #EndAutismNow We deserve to live. We need support and resources, not your hatred and constant flood of anger towards us – only because we dare to exist in a neurotypical world that hates us. #ActuallyAutistic#Autism
I am tired of autistic people being called burdens, a drain on society, useless, and any other insult you want to throw our way. I am tired of being seen as broken. I’m tired of being seen as an unwanted side effect, a blight in the gene pool.
How DARE you call to end autism, when autism shapes our entire being – how we see the world, our personalities. We get it; you would rather us be dead and no longer exist. You explicitly prove that you do not actually care about inclusion at all.
You show us you hate us every time you talk about “Curing” the autism. You show us you hate us by the blatant anger at any autistic adult who dares speak up – even when they are a parent themselves. You show us you hate us by denying accessibility, accommodation, autonomy.
We are human beings. Autistic people have always been here, we are here now, and we will ALWAYS be here. You cannot threaten us and not expect pushback from our community. We are tired of our children being abused, our teens bullied, our adults neglected. Enough is enough.
This hatred is what kills our kids, teens, adults. People with disabilities are at high risk of abuse and even being murdered by their caregivers. And I am so DONE crying as I read yet another name that I will add to a list for Disability Day of Mourning.
