Gender associations and stereotypes of instruments | Therapeutic Diversity

Some people tend to have certain preconceptions that some instruments should or are most typically played by certain genders. These ideas could be formed based on the history of the instruments, parental influence when their child is making the decision to learn an instrument or the influence of other instrumentalists. The harp, specifically, tends to have certain gender associations.
