No DACA Deal in Budget: Tell Congress We Need a Clean DREAM Act NOW!
Senate Deal OK’s funding for CHIP and CHC’s; Prevention Fund Gets Slashed
February 8, 2018. Another showdown over the federal budget is ticking away and there’s still uncertainty over whether the House will come to an agreement before midnight tonight. The Senate is expected to pass a 600 page deal that would keep the government open for another six weeks, but doesn’t include a provision for Dreamers. CPEHN believes it’s time for Congress to stop holding DACA recipients hostage and pass a clean DREAM Act that’s not attached to a border wall, the diversity lottery or other immigration issues. CPEHN agrees with Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi (D-SF) that Dreamers who have work permits, driver’s licenses and in-state tuition are being subjected to unnecessary cruelty as they await an uncertain future. These young people are part of our communities in every way except on paper. Many have known no other home.
As we lunge towards another government funding deadline, CPEHN stands with our immigrant youth and families in condemning the racist rhetoric of this administration and urges Congress to protect Dreamers. Scroll down for ways you can help TODAY.

The agreement notably includes $300 billion in military spending, an increase of 9% and $90 billion in disaster relief for the hurricanes and wildfires of last year including for Puerto Rico.
