Maggie Suzanne Wright, a daughter of Suzanne Wright and Bob Wright of Fairfield, Conn., was married last evening to Gregory Matthew Tomlinson, a son of Elizabeth A. Tomlinson of Richmond, Va., and the late Edwin L. Tomlinson Jr. Chad Misner, a friend of the couple who became a Universal Life minister for this event, officiated in the penthouse of the Oviatt Building in Los Angeles.Ms. Wright, 28, is keeping her name.
She was until September 2004 a freelance production executive in New York who assisted the producers of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.” She graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.Her father is the chairman and chief executive of NBC Universal in New York, a unit of General Electric, of which he is a vice chairman.
He and the bride’s mother are founders of Autism Speaks, a nonprofit organization in New York which they began in February and raises money for autism research. Mr. Tomlinson, 36, is a consultant on business development to the Sundance Channel, the pay cable channel specializing in independent film, in New York. He graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. His father was an insurance manager at the Ethyl Corporation, a maker of fuel additives and specialty chemicals, in Richmond.The couple met through a mutual friend in 1995 at Jabberjaw, a club that was in Los Angeles, where Ms. Wright, then music director for her college radio station, and Mr. Tomlinson, then promoting bands for a record label, had each gone to see Karp, a rock band.
