The heater blows the dust through the vent

Another year gone, I wonder where it went

I am getting older and the seasons turn

I sit at my desk and smell the dust burn

It burns through my mind where I find memories

I turn through my thoughts how we fought our destinies

I think of the lessons learned

And smell the dust burn

The winter carries more than cold weather

When you lose someone and you can’t forget her

I relive the season with familiar regret

I look out the window and light a cigarette
